Introduction

At Downtown Carleton Place, we understand the importance of the security of confidential information of all types including the protection of the privacy of personal information. As a Local Board of the local Municipality under the Municipal Act or the Toronto Act (as applicable), Downtown Carleton Place may have obligations under the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act., including in relation to the collection, use and disclosure of personal information.

Purposes of Collection, Use, Retention and Disclosure of Personal Information

Downtown Carleton Place collects, uses, retains and discloses personal information of individuals who interact with the Downtown Carleton Place (“Individuals”) as necessary to operate Downtown Carleton Place, and to provide services and programs to Downtown Carleton Place‘s stakeholders.

Disclosure of Personal Information

Downtown Carleton Place will disclose an Individual’s personal information only if consent is given by the relevant Individual or:

1. for purposes for which the information was obtained or for a consistent purpose (including without limitation to businesses that assist Downtown Carleton Place in operating Downtown Carleton Place and in providing services to Downtown Carleton Place’s stakeholders including Individuals); and
